What is LMS? Definition and explanations

An LMS (Learning Management System) is the platform that hosts, distributes and tracks an organisation's training: course catalogue, enrolments, mandatory paths, assessments, certificates and completion reporting. It serves learning as much as proof of compliance, when a course is a regulatory requirement. Moodle, TalentLMS and 360Learning are common examples.
