What is Structured data? Definition and explanations

Structured data follows a format defined in advance: named, typed fields organised into tables or records. An invoice, a CRM contact or a stock line are examples. That regularity makes it directly queryable, aggregatable and verifiable. In SEO, the phrase means something narrower: the Schema.org markup added to a page.
