What is Public cloud? Definition and explanations

Public cloud means pooled computing resources, operated by a provider and rented on usage to many customers: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud. The physical infrastructure is shared, with isolation enforced logically. You gain elasticity and no hardware investment; you accept provider dependency and a shared-responsibility model worth understanding properly.

In one sentence

Public cloud rents pooled resources, operated by a provider, on a usage basis.
