MODULE 07

Geolocation and telemetry

Know where your vehicles, teams and equipment are, live.

Fleet tracking, field team positions, sensor readings: we build the platform that collects, displays and uses that data. With privacy handled from the design stage, not bolted on afterwards.

Who it is for

  • Transport and delivery companies running a fleet
  • Service firms with teams spread across the field
  • Operators of remote equipment reporting measurements
  • Organisations that must prove visits or interventions

What you are living with today

  • You phone to find out where a delivery has got to
  • Route sheets are filled in at night, from memory
  • You cannot prove the exact time of an intervention
  • Sensor data sits unused

What you get out of it

Real time

Positions

A live map of your vehicles and teams, with no phone calls and no chasing.

History

Defensible

Time-stamped routes and interventions, usable in a dispute or an audit.

Alerts

Automatic

Zone crossed, abnormal stop, sensor threshold exceeded: you are told without watching.

What is included

  • Position capture from phones or in-vehicle units
  • Real-time map with replayable route history
  • Geographic zones with entry and exit alerts
  • Dashboards: distance, travel time, idle time
  • Sensor reporting and alert thresholds, if you have them
  • Retention and consent policy aligned with Quebec Law 25

How it runs

01

Discovery

1 to 2 weeks

What you need to track, how often, and above all why: the purpose determines what you are allowed to collect.

02

Architecture

2 weeks

Data volume, storage strategy, hardware choices, compliance and retention plan.

03

Design

1 to 2 weeks

Maps and dashboards mocked up, with the views specific to each role.

04

Build

6 to 12 weeks

Development, hardware integration and field testing in real conditions.

05

Launch

2 weeks

Gradual rollout, informing the employees concerned, training and adjustments.

Indicative durations. Field testing is essential: a system validated at the office often fails in poor coverage.

Frequently asked

Are we allowed to track our employees?

In Quebec this is regulated. Collection must have a legitimate, proportionate purpose, people must be informed, and tracking cannot continue outside working hours. We design to those rules and document the choices for your register — but we recommend having your policy reviewed by legal counsel.

Does it work without network coverage?

Yes. Positions are stored locally and transmitted as soon as coverage returns. Nothing is lost in a dead zone.

Do we need to buy hardware?

Not always. For teams on foot or in light vehicles, a mobile app is often enough. In-vehicle units mainly become necessary to read data from the vehicle itself.

What would knowing where everything is be worth?

Describe your operations. We will tell you what is measurable, what hardware it needs, and what the legal framework allows.
