What is Digital adoption? Definition and explanations

Digital adoption measures the actual use of a tool by the people it was meant for: share of active users, features genuinely used, persistence of use after a few months. It is distinct from deployment, which only measures availability. Software installed everywhere but bypassed with spreadsheets shows full deployment and zero adoption.
