What is Customer journey? Definition and explanations

The customer journey is the sequence of steps a person goes through with an organisation, from discovery to use and on to loyalty, across every channel: search, website, email, phone, store, after-sales. Mapping it reveals the breaks between channels — the point where the customer has to repeat what they already said — that no single team sees on its own.

In one sentence

The customer journey is the sequence of steps lived with an organisation, across all channels.
